TDSB MULTI-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN

Ward 7 newletter header
Hello Friends, Neighbours and Community Members,

The Toronto District School Board is working on a new Multi-Year Strategic Plan, which will come before the Board of Trustees for consideration this May.

It will act as a high level statement of intent for the Toronto District School Board relating to expectations for high student achievement, safety and well-being of students and employees, a challenging and comprehensive curriculum, teaching and learning strategies in schools, the allocation and management of budget and resources, the physical conditions of schools, staff training, and how the system is reflecting the diversity of our students in the school and curriculum

Trustees and staff have been meeting to work on these goals, ensuring that they reflect the Mission and Values of the Toronto District School Board. This plan will identify the board direction and system goals for the next three or more school years, and your input is valued.

I invite you to review the draft Mission and Values Statements and the Five Goals of the Multi-Year Strategic Plan. To see the presentation guide click Here and the consultation guide click Here and then provide feed your feedback by completing the on-line survey before the deadline April 30, 2018

Alternatively, if you wish to email me directly please do not hesitate to do so (robin.pilkey@tdsb.on.ca) and I will make sure that they are included in the analysis!

Regards,
Robin

HUMBERSIDE ADVISORY COUNCIL

Humberside Council

Please join us this coming MondayApril 23, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Humberside's Lismer Auditorium for a free workshop called The New Concussion 101. (RSVP here!)

Head injuries happen. Whether your kids are engaged in sports, just horsing around or have an unlucky encounter with a slippery sidewalk, chances are good they'll hit their heads at some point on your parenting journey. When they do, it can be tough to know whether or not your child has a concussion. And if they do, you may not be clear on the latest concussion protocol.
To sort this out, we'll be joined by Stephanie McFarland, an occupational therapist and concussion expert from the Concussion Centre at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
While hosted by your parent council, this FREE event is open not just to Humberside C.I. parents, but to others as well. So please spread the word and bring a friend (or several) whose kids are in another school.

The presentation itself gets underway at 7 p.m., but starting at 6:30 we'll have refreshments on offer so we can make it a bit of a social call, too.
You're welcome to just show up, but we encourage you to register on our EventBrite pageto help us know the right numbers for catering. Also, if you register, you'll get a handy reminder email. Because Mondays.

If you do not wish to receive this correspondence, please select "unsubscribe" at the bottom of this email.

Thanks,
Your Humberside School Advisory Council

P.S. There's now a Humberside C.I. Parents Facebook group. Please join!
