80s NIGHT - SATURDAY APRIL 6th

Hi IRC Families!

We are just 1 week away from our adults only 80's Night Fundraiser! All proceeds from this event go to directly to IRC Parent Council funding initiatives like upgrading the library, Scientists in the School, upgrading gym equipment and so much MORE!

Tickets are still available for purchase for $20 until March 31st by sending an email money transfer to: ircparentcouncilassist@gmail.com. Be sure to include the names of the guests to be added to the guest list. After March 31st, tickets can be purchased for $25 at the door. (Ticket price includes 1 drink and light refreshments.)

Dressing up is not mandatory, but totally encouraged!

You won't want to miss your favorite 80's tunes brought to you by IRC parent and DJ Benjamin De Graaf akaDJelegance https://www.djelegance.ca/ Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to party!

Are you a Trivia wizard? Then you are totally going to want to bring your smartphone and test your 80's Trivia knowledge! ($5 additional fee to play).

There are pool tables available so you can challenge a friend to a game or two!

Raffles! Donations from local merchants include gift baskets, alcohol and restaurant gift certificates from Nodo, Kelsey's and more!

GIVING TUESDAY

Did you know that today is “Giving Tuesday”? The Tuesday after Cyber Monday has become a time for giving back to charities and local community organizations. This Giving Tuesday, the IRC Parent Council would like you to consider us as your charity of choice!

In addition to funding enhancements to our children’s school experience (i.e. Scientist in the School, arts presentations, athletic equipment, etc.), your donations may help us with some new projects that Parent Council does not have the funds to support today:

Library upgrade: To build a comprehensive book collection with an equity lens
Robotics Club: There is interest in starting a small robotics team at IRC
Arts: We are in need of a new piano or an expensive repair to the one we have
Special Education classroom equipment
And much more!

For the first time ever, IRC Parent Council is able to accept online donations and provide donors with tax receipts! These donations are completely anonymous. We will not know who did/did not donate or how much was given by whom.

Donating to IRC Parent Council is very easy! You will be able to pay via credit card (Hello, Rewards Points!) and a charitable tax receipt will be emailed to you directly.

Just follow these easy steps:

Log onto your TDSB School Cash Online account (the same one currently used for paying for school field trips and extra curricular activities).
Once logged in, click on the tab that says “Make a Donation”
Fill in the necessary details and choose the amount you want to donate (minimum $20 to receive a charitable tax receipt)
Choose from the drop down menu which school you want (Please make sure it says Indian Road Crescent Junior Public School – If is doesn’t, the money will NOT come to IRC Parent Council)
Once you have filled in the form, complete the transaction and a charitable tax receipt will be emailed to the address you have provided.

Unable to donate today? Don’t worry! You can donate to IRC Parent Council at any time! Helpful reminder: make the donation before December 31, 2018 to get a charitable donation receipt for this income tax year.

NEXT PARENT COUNCIL MEETING - TUESDAY NOVEMBER 20th

Hello, everyone!

This is a reminder that our monthly Parent Council Meeting is being held next Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm in the Staff Room. You can download the agenda for the meeting here. Everyone is welcome!

*We moved the regularly-scheduled Parent Council Meeting to next week in order to accommodate Principal Ghabrial's visit to Mono Cliffs with the Grade 6s this week. Thank you for understanding*

Our first Movie Night Fundraiser of the school year is next Friday, November 23 in the IRC Gym! We are showing Hotel Transylvania 3. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the Movie starts at 7:00 pm. There will be pizza, popcorn and treats for sale. It is a pay-what-you-can admission or a suggested $5 donation. For an additional $5, you can purchase a "VIP Seat" at the back of the gym! Please email Melissa at melissa.denomme@gmail.com by November 22 to reserve your spot. See attached poster.

These fundraisers support important IRC Parent Council initiatives that enhance our children's learning experience. We hope you will attend Movie Night and, better still, consider volunteering!
