IRC FUN FAIR - RAIN OR SHINE!

YAHOOOO!  FUN FAIR is this SATURDAY MAY 25 from 11-3!
This is a rain or shine event.  Right now the weather does not look promising so let’s collectively hope for sunshine.  If the rain comes, we will host a slightly-modified-but-still-SUPER-FUN event indoors!
VOLUNTEERS
We still need volunteers to make Fun Fair possible.  Lots of them.  If you can help, please email Sarah at riemerse@gmail.com today!

SILENT AUCTION
The Silent Auction IS LIVE!  Go to https://www.32auctions.com/IRC to view the many fantastic items that were donated!  Thank you to everyone who contributed!

There will be a display of auction items at the Fun Fair. People will be able to bid and pay for items with cash or cheque, as always, if that is preferred.  Otherwise, all sales can be cashless through the auction website.

BAKE SALE
Your home baked or store bought goods are appreciated! A gentle reminder that all goods should be peanut and tree nut free.  Goods may be brought to the gym on the morning of Fun Fair any time after 9:00 am.  If you can bake or donate some treats, please contact Melissa at melissa.denomme@gmail.com

A portion of the proceeds from every subscription sale goes back to our school and helps us fund various school initiatives like technology for our classrooms and sports equipment for our gym! Don't forget subscriptions also make great gifts! Consider purchasing one for a friend or loved one for this upcoming holiday season - it's a win-win!
Information packages will be sent out with students this week. Please place your orders online at  www.qsp.ca. Our School Online ID is 3721206.  We have set our fundraising goal this year to $10,000 and we need your help! TERRY FOX NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN

TERRY FOX NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN DAY:  FRI., SEPT. 25, 2015 @ 1:15 p.m.

This year will mark the 35th  Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run!  Last year our school raised
$ 5, 562.90!  All staff and students are encouraged to wear the colours RED and WHITE on this day.  Each month this year, we will be having a different monthly spirit day on the same day as our Character Education Assemblies (the last Friday of every month)!

This year, IRC will commemorate the 35th Anniversary in an exciting and fun way by doing the following:
1.     All students will be rewarded with a 15 min extra recess period if our school raises more than last year’s total.
2.     There will be a draw in the office for 2 Terry Fox T-shirts (1 for a primary student and 1 for a junior student).

Important: This year, all donations must be done on line.  No cash and/or cheques will be accepted at the school.  Donating on line is fast, easy and eco-friendly! On line donations will provide parents and families with the opportunity to donate whatever amount they wish for this most worthy cause.

 To donate on line:
Go to terryfox.org
Click NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN DAY
Click GIVE TO A STUDENT
Receive receipt IMMEDIATELY

Every child will walk with their individual class that day for approx. 20-30 min.  Each classroom teacher will be given a designated route around the IRC community. The time and/or distance around the route will depend on the range of ability of the students in the class.  Ms. Braz and Ms. Fenton will be taking  the junior gr. 4-6 students who are on the Cross Country Running team on a run vs. a walk for this event.  All other students will walk their classroom route with their teacher. Our event starts at 1:15 p.m.  Parent volunteers are most welcome to participate and provide extra assistance with the supervision of students while walking in the community.  If you would like to join your child in this event, please speak directly with your child’s teacher.
