A MESSAGE FROM PARENT COUNCIL

 Hello, IRC Families!

As you may know, the IRC Parent Council raises money for important enhancements to our children’s education and overall school experience. Here are just some examples of what Parent Council subsidized in 2015/2016:

- Shared Chrome Books for classroom use
- $1000 to set up a new classroom
- $5/student per classroom for teacher supplies and materials
- Scientist in the Classroom
- Buses for field trips/athletic tournaments
-  Art, drama and music presentations
- Athletic equipment

If you are interested in learning more about how our school is funded, you can view our school’s operating budget at www.tdsb.on.ca.

Families are busy and many have expressed a desire to be able to simply write a cheque to IRC Parent Council, instead of attending/supporting the various fundraisers we host. Let us assure you - we are happy to accept your cash in any way you wish to give it! Please consider the following request, which is 100%, totally and completely voluntary.

[ ] $25 – Yes! I’d be happy to give $25 instead of buying ingredients and providing baked goods for your next Bake Sale.
[ ] $50 – For sure! I never remember to check out the Fun Fair Silent Auction items – here’s what I would have spent on a Gift Certificate.
[ ] $75 – Absolutely! I didn’t want a magazine subscription, anyway – please accept my cheque instead.
[ ] $100 - Done! I don’t have time to help but kudos to everyone else who can. Consider this my Volunteer Hall Pass for the year.
[ ] $_____ - OK, Parent Council; clever letter but I’m actually comfortable giving this amount, instead.

If you would like to donate, please download this donation form here, make your cheque payable to IRC Parent Council, and please drop off at the main office or send to school with your student.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOL!!!

TERRY FOX NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN

TERRY FOX NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN DAY:  FRI., SEPT. 25, 2015 @ 1:15 p.m.

This year will mark the 35th  Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run!  Last year our school raised
$ 5, 562.90!  All staff and students are encouraged to wear the colours RED and WHITE on this day.  Each month this year, we will be having a different monthly spirit day on the same day as our Character Education Assemblies (the last Friday of every month)!

This year, IRC will commemorate the 35th Anniversary in an exciting and fun way by doing the following:
1.     All students will be rewarded with a 15 min extra recess period if our school raises more than last year’s total.
2.     There will be a draw in the office for 2 Terry Fox T-shirts (1 for a primary student and 1 for a junior student).

Important: This year, all donations must be done on line.  No cash and/or cheques will be accepted at the school.  Donating on line is fast, easy and eco-friendly! On line donations will provide parents and families with the opportunity to donate whatever amount they wish for this most worthy cause.

 To donate on line:
Go to terryfox.org
Click NATIONAL SCHOOL RUN DAY
Click GIVE TO A STUDENT
Receive receipt IMMEDIATELY

Every child will walk with their individual class that day for approx. 20-30 min.  Each classroom teacher will be given a designated route around the IRC community. The time and/or distance around the route will depend on the range of ability of the students in the class.  Ms. Braz and Ms. Fenton will be taking  the junior gr. 4-6 students who are on the Cross Country Running team on a run vs. a walk for this event.  All other students will walk their classroom route with their teacher. Our event starts at 1:15 p.m.  Parent volunteers are most welcome to participate and provide extra assistance with the supervision of students while walking in the community.  If you would like to join your child in this event, please speak directly with your child’s teacher.
